BMP-3 Work in Progress (part 1)

I'm starting series reports about work on BMP-3 model by Trumpeter (#01530). That is quite nice kit. The good quality of plastic allows drill, sandpaper, scratch and join it with other materials without any annoying facts as you can be faced using chip kits like Eastern Express or Military Wheels. As well the kit allows to build several modifications of the vehicle, I think that is nice option for craft.

Firstly inner sides of spring stoppers were cut.

And simulated welded joints by Tamiya epoxy putty ( ITEM  87051).
Tracks are given separately and you shall join them. To glue together or join them with a wire that is your choice. Whereas kit tracks not bad, I use  Sector 35 metal tracks.

Seats. Oh Dear! That's a real problem of this kit!
To solve this problem I needed sculptural plasticine, aluminium foil (chocolate foil suitable too) and putty shaping tool.

Put some plasticine on seats, covered it by foil and pressed by shaping tool till necessary form. Painted them black Mr.Hobby H2.
All other seats made of sheet plastic, copper wire and foil. Applied Vallejo grey primer.

Shells rack made of sheet copper and fixed under back row seats.
